First Aid Saves Lives
It was just passed midnight…A Thursday midnight to be exact…
As I was driving home, round the corner of Istana Budaya…bang, came an idiot biker scratched my bumper abit and speed off, although as tiny a pinky but it still hurts…me…uhuuu >.<
Out of rage I went to the Dang Wangi police station, however upon reaching, I got off my four wheels and think again…is it worth it going through all the hassle of the “Malaysian Police” then my friend who was with me calm me down and said…it’s not worth it…so I gather my thoughts and went back home…
On the way, around the flyover of Pudu roundabout, there was a slight jam…the only thing that would create a jam in the middle of the night is a roadblock…I thought…
However my friend alerted me saying there is someone lying on the floor just afew cars in front…
I was like, you wanna take the car ?
He was like, okay…
So he switched to my side and I approached the guy in front…
First thing I noticed was this guy all bloodied on his face, confused and unable to talk…
There were many people on that scene, yeah the usual Malaysian Stop, Look, Go thing…
I then attended the wounded guy calming him down, then came another guy being moved from his vehicle placed beside me, supposed to be this guy’s friend, multiple fracture points on his leg causing his legs to be folded up, kinda like yoga but the hardcore kind…if ya know what I mean…
While trying to diagnose their injury, the next big thing on my mind was…where do I get first aid equipment !?!?!?!
Out of nowhere came this guy and hand me some surgical gloves…wear this he said…(wah sounds like fairy tail pulak)
He introduced himself quickly, he’s from the nearby hospital on the way to somewhere and bumped into this thing…
Great that he brought along a fully equiped first aid kit.
Total casualties 4
1st Casualty – Chinease, probably early 20′s
- Head injury
- Dislocated right forearm
2nd Casualty – Malay, probably early 20′s
- Multipal fracture points on the leg
- Lower lips sliced into 2
3rd Casualty – Malay, probably mid 20′s
- Dislocated left shoulder
4th Casualty – Malay, probably mid 20′s
- Unable to move right arm
- Head injury
It’s a good thing that we came into the scene as the accident was very bad.
Not to mention, there were 2 cars involved.
After treating what we could till the arrival of ambulance. I thanked the guy, Anuar his name was and went off (my friend was waiting in the car in front after the accident scene)
My friend told me he heard some people said that 1 of the cars jumped over the divider from the opposite road and bang into the other car…ouch…yeah both cars were critical as well…
So what have I thought of…well…
Maybe God gave me the pinky accident and changed my route to using that particular road back (if not I will be using another road) for me to help out with whatever first aid knoweldge I have…
And also be greatful it was just a pinky scratch on the bumper, nobody was hurt…
Will place a first aid kit in my car…
So…to put it into simple words…
Be greatful & with great power comes great resposibility (Sorry Spidey !)
Hi Ther,
Seems to me that you are one lucky guy. LOL
Come to think of it, my first aid box is at home and not in the car..Dangerous….
PS: Honestly I think that the design of our roads and the quality of our cars (PROTON!!!) is the main source of accidents!
