What comes to your mind when you see the word ‘mindstorm’?
Idea? Flash? Actually, I credit originality to James for the word ‘mindstorm’. I like it better than ‘brainstorm’.
At Mindstorm, we may be a band of ragtag writers but we have quality.
I’m not sure yet how much combined experience the staff of Mindstorm have so we welcome criticism and advice.
We thank all visitors in advance.

Hi everyone,
James has been chasing me for this foreword for quite some time already. Now that I finally get to sit down and write something, I get a writer’s block, or is it just my lack of writing talents. Anyway, this being a foreword, I think it fit that I say something about the benefits of you taking the time to read the awesomely long and painstakingly researched posts.
This site is for
1. People who can sit and read without having to take a break every 5 secs.
2. People who have a natural inquisitive mind.
3. People whose brains can process at the equivalent speed of a Pentium processor. (some posts here are so um complicated that the feeble minded person cannot comprehend)
4. Did I mention the ability to sit and read?
If you fulfill the above criteria, congratulations, you’ve found your second online home, your first being facebook.com :p
This is actually a very commendable effort on James’ part. This is a good place for people to share knowledge, it’s also a good place for people like me to act like I have knowledge (I hope I’m the only one in that category), and a good place to read about almost everything.
So I hope you enjoy yourselves here. And if you don’t then there’s always that break you can take after every 5 secs.
Special thanks to James initiating this, and also for inviting me in.
Cheers
Jun Loong
P.S. Wait… Did I say anything about the benefits of reading the long posts? I guess not.. anyway, go read another post, other than this one, and you decided the benefits. ;-)

Hi there. If you sincerely want to join this community in search of more wisdom but at the same save yourself from drowning in a shitload of information, then Kudos!! Our doors are opened to you (right James? Since you are the one doing all the sorting out and rounding up)
But for those of you who are here to try your luck at bringing home a boyfriend or a girlfriend (or both), sorry to say, but I suggest that you think twice. As you will come to find out sooner or later, this community is made up of the same kind of people, all with centre parting , thick specs, shinny foreheads, and best of all, shirts tucked in all the time, meaning to say that you are not really posed with much choice when it comes to the diversity of personality and look. So to leave or to stay, the choice is yours
After reading the above, you might have one of the followings going on in your mind:
a) Since they all wear think glasses and tuck in their shirts whereas everybody else is trying hard to look fashionable, then they must be NERD. Conclusion: stay away from this site.
b) They are NERDs, Even if they are, nobody has ever said before that NERDS can’t be charming. Neither has anyone dictated that NERD must be dumb or introverted. By the way, is a nerd really defined based on the above criteria?
c) They might or might not be NERDs, Even if they are, nobody has ever said before that NERDS can’t be charming. Neither has anyone dictated that NERD must be dumb or introverted. By the way, is a nerd really defined based on the above criteria?
d)I don’t write off the possibility of me falling in love with a NERD. So let’s give it a shot.
e)They don’t necessary have to be NERD. Maybe it is better to call them GEEK.GEEKs are brainy people and this website is for brainy people. So they must be GEEK!!..But I hate GEEKs as much as I hate NERDs. Conclusion: stay away from this site.
f) This guy is so full of crap. Just don’t give a darn to whatever he said (It is your loss to think so)
and the list goes on…..
You might support some and oppose the rest of what I wrote, but each and every point above has the potential to spark off a series of debates. As the debate drags on, more insights and depth will be brought into the picture, some of which we might have already been acquainted with, while some are what we have never come across in the past Every time we are enlightened with new knowledge, our course of life is set for a change without us knowing what the reason is or how it is going to change.
When someone ask Warren Buffett about how to get rich, his ever consistent and predictable answer would be “Read Everything you can” and Charlie Munger would just nod his head in agreement. In this case, you should read blog and participate in Brainstorm.(hope you are nodding your head in agreement as well) We human beings have limitation for each of us only have one brain. The number of neurons we can possess is only restricted to the size of our brain(If you think you are so great just because you have some trillions of neuron, just wait till an alien comes and tell you that IT doesn’t have a brain and yet has a higher IQ than you)
We need someone to play a part in helping us to broaden our perspective and to do away with radical and egoistic viewpoints. We need a common space to find common ground to explore happenings that we are not able to, and will never be able to fathom on our own. For instance, we used to perceive time and light as an abstract until Einstein propounded that they are substantial, quantifiable compound, just like the chair you are sitting in right now. Logic told us that airplane, submarine, diving suit, tank and ROBOT could only have come into existence earliest by the 19th century until a relevation was made that those technologies were in fact pioneered in the 15th century,of which primitive designs were proven to be perfectly functional .To wrap this up, I would like to commend James for giving this site(movement seems to be too big a word..)such a befitting name. Anyway, Dolly Parton used to say that”if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain(or storm in this case)
It s time to put a fullstop to my foreword(initially it was ended with”so long”, my trademark way of signing off before i decided to change it under undue pressure…)Please stay tuned for my next posting.Bye!
Hail Mindstorm!!Hail James Ee!!!! Hail the resuscitations of the brain deads, literally….)!!!!!!!
